Blueberries

Blueberries have one of the highest antioxidant capacities. These antioxidants include many different types of anthocyanins, the colorful pigments that give many foods their wonderful shades of blue, purple, and red. Antioxidants are essential for optimizing health by fighting disease and helping to combat the free radicals that can damage cellular structures as well as DNA. 

A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that anthocyanins — the blue, purple and red pigments found in blueberries — offer protection against hypertension. Anthocyanins have also been linked to an increase in neuronal signalling in brain centres.

Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Whole Grain Cereal, Black Chia Seeds, Sprouted Raw Almonds, Sprouted Sunflower & Pumpkin Seeds, & Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds. The ingredients in the Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Whole Grain Cereal include: Organic Sprouted Wheat, Organic Malted Barley, Organic Sprouted Barley, Organic Sprouted Millet, Organic Sprouted Lentils, Organic Sprouted Soybeans, Organic Sprouted Spelt, Filtered Water, Sea Salt. I eat it with organic soy milk (made simply with whole organic soy beans and filtered water - no fillers and other crappy stuff, etc.)

Homemade Organic Popcorn with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Looking for a healthy snack? This is one of my favorite: Homemade Organic Popcorn made with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, & seasoned with Mineral salt. Perfect movie companion!!!

  • Mix 1/2x cup of organic popcorn kernels with 3x tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil in a large pan;
  • Make sure all the popcorn kernels are well-coated with the extra virgin coconut oil;
  • Put lid on pan and place over high heat;
  • Lift pan and hold above heat when popping starts getting a little frenzy & pan starts steaming;
  • Shake occasionally & remove when popping stops;
  • Season with mineral salt.
