"If Slaughterhouses Had Glass Walls, Everyone Would Be Vegetarian." - Sir Paul McCartney
Narrated by and starring Sir Paul McCartney, PETA's shocking new video takes its inspiration from the most well-known quote in the animal rights movement and offers a brief glimpse behind the walls of slaughterhouses, factory farms, live-animal transport and the fishing industry.
By teaming up with PETA to produce the powerful video -- titled, "Glass Walls" -- Sir Paul is helping to uncover the horrific abuse that the meat and dairy industries inflicts on animals to provide consumers with cheap burgers, nuggets and other products. He also explains the massive cost to the environment for which the meat industry is directly responsible.
Billions of individual animals are violently killed for their flesh every year -- whilst others spend almost their entire lives confined to filthy, cramped conditions, where they are forced to produce seemingly endless supplies of eggs or gallons of milk.

Why I am a Vegan
Being vegan is the most responsible and morally conscious thing each one of us can do. Veganism not only helps the unnecessary slaughter and torture of billions of animals, but it can also solve many of our health problems. Ironically, veganism can also ease world hunger. It really is the only hope for the future of our beautiful planet.

Philip Wollen : Animals Should Be Off The Menu Debate
“Animals must be off the menu because tonight they are screaming in terror in the slaughterhouse, in crates, and cages. Vile ignoble gulags of despair. I heard the screams of my dying father as his body was ravaged by the cancer that killed him. And I realized I had heard these screams before. In the slaugherhouse, eyes stabbed out and tendons slashed, on the cattle ships to the Middle East and the dying mother whale as a Japanese harpoon expodes in her brain as she calls out to her calf. Their cries were the cries of my father. I discovered when we suffer, we suffer as equals. And in their capacity to suffer, a dog is a pig is a bear….is a boy. Meat is the new asbestos – more murderous than tobacco.”

Confessions of a Vegan
"The people who used to shit me most profoundly were vegans... until the fateful day I became one myself... I realise I was once the bully I despised, imposing my will upon creatures simply because evolution has gifted me a place at the top of the food chain. Even worse I would smirk while spooning the misery of other creatures into my mouth and disparage people’s attempts to explain why it might be wrong... Once the light goes on and you realise the food you so blithely eat actually causes massive, life-long, completely avoidable suffering to billions of animals, it’s not an easy epiphany to un-think."
